Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth getting reality show

Behind the Scenes

By Antracia Merrill-Moorings

She’s Back: Omarosa Manigault- Stallworth is getting her own reality show—and with Donald Trump, no less. Omarosa’s Ultimate Merger won’t be yet another stab at working for the big cheese—this time it’s all about the current seminary student finding a mate. She’ll be choosing from a dozen potential suitors. “Omarosa was a great personality on The Apprentice that was watched by over 40 million people as it became the No. 1 show on TV,” said Trump, who’s producing the series for the TV One network. “Omarosa is smart, witty and difficult, but all of those qualities will make for some very interesting entertainment.” In case you’ve forgotten, this isn’t Omarosa’s first, second or even third time at the reality-television dog and pony show. In addition to The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice, she tangled with Janice Dickinson on The Surreal Life, got competitive on the Battle of the Network Reality Stars and made brief appearances on Fear Factor, Celebrity Poker Showdown and I Love New York.

Leadership Award: Halle Berry will be honored at The Hollywood Reporter’s 18th annual Women in Entertainment breakfast presented by Lifetime. The Oscar winner will receive the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award, which recognizes recipients for trailblazing within the industry and for generosity in giving back to the community at large. Previous beneficiaries include Barbara Walters, Meryl Streep, Jodie Foster and Glenn Close. Hilary Swank and Eva Longoria Parker will also participate in the Dec. 4 breakfast at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The event is held annually in conjunction with the publication of THR’s “Power 100: Women in Entertainment” special issue, which highlights the top 100 women in the motion picture and television industries. “The complex role that Halle Berry plays in life as a successful, versatile entertainment professional who is committed to furthering the well-being of others, especially minorities, is as inspiring as are her film roles,” THR editor Elizabeth Guider said. “The recognition is also wonderfully fitting in a year in which diversity has been embraced and rewarded at the highest levels of our government and culture.” Berry is the national spokesperson for the Jenesse Center, a nonprofit that provides support to heal families victimized by domestic violence.

Settled: R&B singer Brandy will not have to go to civil trial over her December 2006 car crash that killed Awatef Aboudihaj. The ‘Full Moon’ star has settled with the remaining plaintiff in the case, Aboudihaj’s husband, though the terms of the settlement are sealed. Back in June, the ‘Moesha’ star settled with Aboudihaj’s two children, who each received $300,000.

Briefly, Usher was set to release his next album, Raymond vs. Raymond, in early 2010, but since the single “Papers” has everyone buzzing, he won’t keep fans waiting much longer. The singer has bumped up the album-release date to Dec. 21, a rep for Usher confirmed.… Legendary Hip Hop artist LL Cool J has been tapped to host next month’s “Grammy Nominations Concert Live!” for the second year in a row. In an announcement from CBS, it was revealed that the rapper, who has two Grammys of his own, will preside over the Dec. 2 event at Club NOKIA. The concert will air live as a one-hour program. Acts slated to perform include The Black Eyed Peas, Sugarland and Maxwell. The 52nd annual Grammy Awards will be handed out on Jan. 31 at the STAPLES Center during a ceremony, also to air live on CBS.
