Callers trying to scam seniors

Bookmark and Share

FORT WAYNE—The Better Business Bureau of Northern Indiana has received calls from seniors saying that a caller is identifying himself as the “Judiciary Department in Washington, DC” and needs their bank account numbers and social security numbers for Medicare purposes.

The seniors have also reported that if they decline giving this information or refuse to comply, the caller becomes rude and insulting to them. The caller tells them that they will be one of “50,000 seniors to lose their Medicare.”

Do not give this caller information. It is a scam.
