Dr. Edna D. Neal retires from IPFW staff

FORT WAYNE-May 25 marked the retirement of Dr. Edna D. Neal from her position as vice chancellor for student affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW).
Neal received her bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, her masters degree from the University of Arkansas and her doctorate degree from Indiana University.
Prior to joining the administration of IPFW in 2001, she worked for the Employment Services Division for the State of Arkansas and later at Youngstown State University and Sinclair Community College in Ohio.
In addition to her work in the educational field, Neal is an active member of Union Baptist Church and served as the president of the YMCA board of directors from 2005 to 2007. She is an active member of the Fort Wayne Urban League board, the Fort Wayne Community Schools Minority Recruitment Committee and Fort Wayne Chapter of Links Inc.
Neal's post-retirement plans include returning to Pine Bluff, where her relatives include her mother, two sisters and a brother. Her daughter Yoland? Baker, granddaughter Bryttani, 16, and grandson Shawn-Christopher, 11, live in Dayton, Ohio.
