NAACP to host its 71st Annual Freedom Fund Banquet Aug. 20

FORT WAYNE—NAACP Branch 3049 of Fort Wayne and Allen County is scheduled to host its 71st Annual Marjorie D. Wickliffe Freedom Fund Banquet, Aug. 20, 2016, at Parkview Mirro Center for Research & Innovation, 10622 Parkview Plaza Drive.  Doors open at 4 p.m.; dinner is at 6 p.m.

The annual Marjorie D. Wickliffe Freedom Fund Banquet serves as a fundraiser for the Fort Wayne Allen County NAACP and aims to raise local awareness about ongoing civil rights issues.  The event will include an awards ceremony and brief remarks by seven award recipients, summarizing their work in the community.  The awards will recognize achievements in the areas of health, education, higher education, community service, justice, overall lifetime achievement and support of the NAACP.

Big Kess and Angel, radio personalities from B96.9 radio will serve as master and mistress of ceremonies. Live entertainment will be provided.
