FORT WAYNE—It doesn’t seem possible that 40 years have passed since God brought a few of us together to start then, Calvary Chapel.

Forty years ago, I received a call from a lady from Cleveland, she asked could she come to the Grand Opening of Calvary Chapel, we were opening in then the Chocolate Bar. She came and told how she was asked to leave the bar because she was witnessing and they told her this is not a church. That was then 1956, and she raised her hands and ask God to make it a church. This was now 1976 when God answered her prayer.

We want to thank God for the leadership of the late Pastor Glenda Bolden, (Dr. Ruth) my deceased wife of 39 years. and also the torch bearer Bishop Melvin Bolden, who gave his life in serving God, the people and me, the presiding bishop.

When God gave me a new assignment in Tampa, He lead me to put Bishop Melvin over the church, where he served faithfully until God received him home. Many wonderful things were brought to pass under his leadership—one that I believe stands tall… his desire to see every child with a gift on Christmas.

After the homegoing of these two giants, God called me back to Fort Wayne take the helm.  He gave me a new wonderful wife and Kingdom partner (Pastor Rhonda Bolden), who brings such joy to my life and a fresh wind to the church with her enthusiasm and creativity!  We have been given the greatest people here on earth to lead at The Well.  And with this team of people, we have been blessed to see many positive changes at the church and our expectation is beyond this realm.
