AARP monthly meeting to feature identity theft presentation

FORT WAYNE—The Allen County Chapter 187 of AARP is scheduled to hold its monthly free educational presentation at 2 p.m., April 7 at the Community Foundation, 555 East Wayne Street, Fort Wayne, at the corner of Wayne and Monroe streets.

Bruce Mueller from the Office of the State Attorney General’s Office is scheduled to offer a presentation on Frauds & Scams (or Frogs & SPAM): How to Protect Yourself from Identity Theft.

Mueller will highlight some of the trickier ways scam artists devise to obtain personal information from nonsuspecting or gullible citizens, how much havoc the misuse of personal identify information can cause victims, and strategies on how to avoid being the victim of identity fraud.

The presentation is free and the community is welcome.
