Sewage forces residents from apartment complex

| June 17, 2015

Fort Wayne—The scene was frantic last week as scores of residents found themselves forced to leave their homes at Baldwin Creek Apartments. On June 11, residents were informed that they had just hours to grab any essentials and evacuate the premises due to unfit living conditions caused by raw sewage backup in basements of several buildings on the complex. Mass confusion and emotions were raised while tenants scurried to grab what they could and flee their homes.

Read next week’s Frost Illustrated to hear one woman’s firsthand account of the chaos that reigned that day and what happened during the following days after being forced from her home. Also, check Frost Illustrated’s online edition for video coverage of the incident by Frost’s own Eunice Tabron-Booker—who was living in Baldwin Creek Apartments at the time of the forced evacuation.
