Police are seeking information that could help identify this man wanted in connection with a series of thefts at Macy’s.

FORT WAYNE—The Fort Wayne Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in
identifying a theft suspect captured in a surveillance photograph at Macy’s Department Store in Glenbrook Mall.
Law enforcement officials say the suspect and an accomplice are responsible for the theft of thousands of dollars’ worth of clothing items from the store over the past several months.

According to complaints filed with  the Fort Wayne Police Department, the thefts go back at least as far as February of this year. A report filed by police officers last month outlines one of the most recent incidents.

A report filed by a FWPD on Sept. 20, indicates that he was called to the story in reference to a previous theft report.

Upon arrival, the officer reported that one of the store’s loss prevention staff told him that store personnel had spotted a suspect who had been involved in previous thefts from the store, but had never been apprehended.

In the Sept. 20 incident, store personnel said the man stole approximately 13 clothing items and ran out the east door of the store to enter a black, four-door Pontiac Grand Am or Pontiac Grand Prix—the same vehicle he appeared to be driving during an incident on Sept. 6. The vehicle did not have any license plate on it.

Among the items stolen were several hoodies and polo shirts worth at least $1,000. The suspect dropped three other items, which were recovered.

The suspect, whose image was captured in a surveillance photo, is described as an approximately 20-year-old male, possibly of multiracial heritage with a beard, wearing a gray hoodie, glasses, a baseball cap.

Anyone with information that can lead to the identification of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-STOP.
