FORT WAYNE—Members of the community celebrated the legacy and message of liberation and pride taught by the late Malcolm X—el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz—at a commemorative event, May 19, at Weisser Park Community Center, on what would have been the visionary leader’s 90th birthday. People of all ages marked the important date in history in a variety of ways including poetry, personal testimonies, dance, call and response lessons and musical performances.
