Anti-gay preacher Fred Phelps Sr. reportedly at death’s door

We’re sure a lot of of folks will try to read God’s “motives” behind the imminent taking of Fred Phelps. Truth of it is, none of us knows why anyone is “called home”—or where that person’s spirit will end up. Rather, folks might look at a number of issues here, including the incredible polarization of different “political” factions in this day and age. Interesting that Jesus preaches forgiveness and salvation for all who accept and some of his “best” worldly friends were the notorious sinners of his earthly days. Should we call it “tolerance.?”

The Rev. Fred Phelps, leader of the controversial Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan., is reportedly near death.The anti-gay Kansas preacher who courted notoriety by picketing the funerals of gays and U.S. soldiers is living out his last days in a hospice care facility near his Topeka church.
