Warming Center set to open tonight at Emmanuel Apostolic Church

| January 28, 2014

FORT WAYNE—The “Warming Center” at the Emmanuel Apostolic Church, 2412 Central Drive, is scheduled to open its doors 8 p.m. to midnight this evening, Jan 28.

This community effort is being done to address the bitter cold temperatures the city of Fort Wayne is currently experiencing. Homelessness and hard times can happen to anyone without prejudice. Rev. Lakeya Stewart and her husband Daniel Stewart, have teamed up with the Emmanuel Apostolic Church to address this need. Although they know that they cannot change the world in this single endeavor, they are striving to “be the hands and feet of Jesus” in our Fort Wayne Community.

If you know someone who will need refuge between the hours of 8 p.m. to midnight tonight, please call  (260) 745-0935 or stop by during the open hours.

Pastor Demarkus Pennington, First Lady Faye, and the Emmanuel Apostolic Church meet on Sundays at 12:30pm for worship and weekly for Bible Study and Prayer which is open for the community.
