George F. Davis Sr., 78, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014. Service was Monday, June 9, 2014, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2200 Covington Road, with interment in Lindenwood Cemetery. Arrangements were by Nelson Memorial Gardens Inc.

Walter Hendrix Sr.

Walter Hendrix Sr., passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014. He was born on Sept. 7, 1929, in Bolivar, Tenn. He leaves to cherish his memory sons, Walter Hendrix Jr. and Joe Hawkins, both of Fort Wayne; daughters, Velvet Newborn and Valerie (James Sr.) Kendrick, both of Fort Wayne; sister, Savannah Powell of Fort Wayne; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service was Saturday, June 7 at Carmichael Funeral Service, with burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.

Michael DeWayne Logan, 39, was born in Fort Wayne on February 14, 1975 to Willie and Annie M. Logan Sr.  He was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 2, 2014. He was baptized at an early age and became a member at Lighthouse Deliverance Cathedral.  Michael graduated from Snider High School in 1993.  He was employed by BF Goodrich and loved to work on and collect older cars. He was preceded in death by his aunts, Patricia Logan, Mary Betsy Ward, Eva Mae Alexander, Rosie Bell Shields and uncles, William Logan, C. W. , Calvin, Joe and James Halfacre. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of seven years, Davina Monique Logan; a daughter, Chiara Logan; parents, Willie and Annie M Logan Sr.; father and mother in-law David and Mary Johnson; brothers, Willie (Sandra) Logan, Joe (Vickie) Logan and Terry Logan; sisters, Delores Logan, Ernestine Logan, Margaret Logan, Ann (Wayne) Boone and Jane Logan; aunts, Magnolia (Walter) Peterson, Sarah Mae Ellis, Eula Mae Barnette and Wilma Harris; uncles, Joe Logan and John Mosley, with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Services were Monday, June 9, 2014, at Lighthouse Deliverance Cathedral, 1315 Hanna St., with burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home. Superintendent Bennie Williams, 72, of Fort Wayne, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. He was born May 31, 1942 in Marion, Ala., a son of the late Marvin and Mary Williams. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Williams; sons, Byron J. Williams, Bernard A. (Janet) Williams, Mark Honer, Timothy (Kia) Bridges, and Earl Bridges; daughters, Charity Y. (VaShaun) Holland, Cookie Honer, and Candy Honer; brother, James (Mary) Williams; sisters, Helen (JC) Cherry, Pearlie Taylor, and Mattie Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was Thursday June 12, 2014 at Greater Spirit of Love (GSOL), 6116 S. Calhoun Street with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.
