Johnnie Mae Goldsby

Johnnie Mae Goldsby was born on March 27, 1923 in Browns, Ala., to the late William H. Dixie and Willa Lee (Glover) Dixie. She went home to be with the Lord at the age of 91 on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Canterbury Nursing and Rehab Center. She retired from GE after many years of service. Johnnie was a member of the ELEX Club and faithful member of the Turner Chapel AME Church for many years. She served as an Usher and Stewardess of the church. To cherish many memories are her daughter, Patricia (Curtis Alvin) Miller; siblings, Esther B. Saunders, Ruth A. (Roger) Good and the Rev. Roosevelt Dixie Sr., all of Fort Wayne; three granddaughters, Kimberly Miller (Deion Maxwell), Sherry Miller and Cheryl (Stephen) Roberts; four great-grandchildren, Doryan Miller, D’Nia Maxwell, Mia Roberts and Tyler Roberts; a god-daughter, Valerie Pope, a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Johnnie was also preceded in death by her sisters, Leona Medina, Emma Moore and Betty Miles. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Turner Chapel AME Church, 836 E. Jefferson Blvd., with calling burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home.

Anthony T. Scott, 60, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014. Service is noon Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2200 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Arrangements were by Nelson Memorial Gardens Inc.
