McDonald wins two silver medals at SWAC Indoor Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Former Northrop High School track star Whitney McDonald won two silver medals at the 2014 SWAC Indoor Championships held in Birmingham, Ala., Feb. 21 and Feb. 22.

McDonald,  a junior at Texas Southern University, took silver in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.42 and anchored the TSU Lady Tigers’ 4 x 400 meter relay team to win silver again with a time of 3:46:67.  McDonald also scored points by placing 5th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.96. The Lady Tigers finished second overall capturing 9 silver and 4 bronze medals during the two day competition.

McDonald is a 2011 graduate of Northrop High School.  She is the daughter of Jason and Robbin Jordan and Rod McDonald.
