Man in ‘blackface’ robs several Walgreens pharmacies

FORT WAYNE—A man masquerading in “blackface” is being sought in connection with a string of robberies. According to police, the person in the accompanying surveillance photos has robbed Walgreens Pharmacy of prescription drugs three times since July 11, 2014. Police said the suspect made a fourth attempt but fled after being noticed as soon as he entered the store.

This man, possibly wearing "dark" theatrical makeup, is being sought in connection with a string of drug robberies at various Walgreens pharmacies.

The robberies and attempted robbery occurred at:
• 11:40 p.m., July 11 at 2410 N. Coliseum Blvd.
• 9:50 p.m., Aug. 11, 2014 at Walgreens at 330 W. State Blvd.
• 12:20 a.m., Aug. 22, an attempted robbery at Walgreens, at 2410 N. Coliseum Blvd., but the suspect was scared off when the employees recognized him from before.
• 1:40 a.m., Aug. 22. The suspect apparently left N. Coliseum Boulevard and went to the Walgreens at 10412 Coldwater Road and robbed them.

The man is believed to be a white male with dark costume make-up on his face, 6’ tall, medium to slender build, rides a mountain bike to and from the robbery locations. The suspect produces a note asking for certain prescription drugs.
