On June 1, the Advisory Council of the Jennings Recreation Center (aka the Jennings Center), 1330 McCulloch St., awarded three area students with scholarships during the center’s 56th Annual Teenage Sunday.
This year’s scholarship winners were Karris Sims, Shaquan Archie and Levi Mitchell.
Scholarship candidates must have be accepted at a college and have served 20 hours of service at the Jennings Center
The awards were made during a special program hosted by Master of Ceremony Montique Taylor and Mistress of Ceremony Delilah Simmons. The guest speaker was Adriane Curry, a Morehouse graduate with a long association with the Jennings Recreational Center and its affiliated centers.
