FORT WAYNE—A former band member of one of Fort Wayne’s legendary jazz saxophonists, the late Bob Green, recently passed away.

Edward “Ed” C. Wilkinson, who served a number of years as percussionist for Green’s popular Bob Green & Friends group, passed away April 16 at the age of 60.

Born Jan. 20, 1954, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Richard L. Wilkinson Sr. and Mary E. (Richards) Wilkinson.

Surviving are his daughters, Elizabeth Wilkinson and Heidi (Shane) Carrier both of Fort Wayne; former wife, Mary Kay Wilkinson of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren; dog, Chili; four brothers, Richard (Cindy) Wilkinson Jr., Donald (Loretta) Wilkinson and Tim Wilkinson, all of Fort Wayne, and Rodney Wilkinson of Elkhart, Ind.; one sister, Mary Cox of Huntington; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was, April 22, 2014, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St.
