Two arrested in Wilt Street raid

FORT WAYNE—At approximately 8:52 a.m., On Friday, June 13,members of the Fort Wayne Police Department Emergency Services Team, along with members of the Vice & Narcotics Division served a search warrant at 1138 Wilt Street, Apt. No. 1.  Detectives had received information that someone at this residence was possibly involved in manufacturing methamphetamine.

Detectives found numerous items of evidence during the search of this residence, including a pistol, numerous pills and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.  Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code was called in to assist in this investigation and the individual apartment was condemned after the raid.  Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control were called in and took custody of two dogs.

During the raid, there were two adults present, Matthew Yeakle and Lisa Yeakle.  Matthew Yeakle, 29. has a previous felony conviction out of Huntington, Ind., for child exploitation making is unlawful for him to possess a firearm. He subsequently was charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance;

• Maintaining a common nuisance, and

• Possession of marijuana.

Police determined that in this circumstance, Matthew Yearkle did not meet the criterion for a felon in possession of a firearm arm charge. He was held on                                 $30,000 bond on the other charges.

Lisa Yeakle, 32, was charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance;

• Maintaining a common nuisance;

• Possession of marijuana (a Class A misdemeanor, and

• Possession of paraphernalia a Class (A misdemeanor)

Her bond was set a $5,000.

During the raid, she also was observed swallowing an unknown substance as the Emergency Services Team was entering the house, and was taken to a hospital to be checked out.

An investigation is ongoing.
