Man injured in accident involving scooter stolen in 2012

FORT WAYNE— At approximately 2:55 p.m., May 29, Fort Wayne police responded
to the 4900 block of Avondale Drive on the reported single vehicle accident involving a scooter. On arrival officers found an adult male down who had crashed after losing control of his vehicle.

He was transported from the scene in serious condition to a local hospital where he was initially downgraded to critical condition. After being treated he was upgraded to fair condition. The scooter involved in this accident was reported stolen out of Allen County in November 2012.
This accident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department.


Man found shot in parking lot

FORT WAYNE—At approximately 1:32 a.m., June 2, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of a person shot in a parking lot in the 4200 block of S. Clinton St. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics determined the male to be in serious condition, and transported him to a local hospital, where he was later downgraded to critical condition.

The investigation so far has revealed that some sort of disturbance occurred, which led to the male being shot. It is unknown exactly what the disturbance was about. There were several witnesses in the area, who were interviewed by detectives. Crime scene units responded and processed the scene for evidence. Any surveillance footage from nearby businesses will also be reviewed.

At press time there were no suspects nor suspect descriptions, and no one is in custody.

This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Assisting agencies include the City of Fort Wayne Fire Department and Three Rivers Ambulance Authority.


Fort Wayne police need assistance in identifying robbery suspect
FORT WAYNE—Fort Wayne Police Department officials are seeking assistance in identifying a robbery suspect.

A landlord was robbed recently after picking up rent money from a tenant in the 1100 block of Oxford Street.

According to a police report, the suspect saw the transaction, which apparently occurred in an area business, followed the landlord out, put a gun to his neck and demanded the cash.  The suspect then left east on Oxford, then turned south on Oliver Street in a black , older Kia Sportage.
