Woman stabbed, man arrested

FORT WAYNE—At approximately 4 a.m., Dec. 28, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the report of women being heard screaming in the 2600 block of Fairfield View Place. An officer responding to the scene was flagged down in the area of Fairfield and Creighton Streets by a motorist who was transporting the victim to a hospital. Medics transported her to a local hospital where she was determined to be in critical condition suffering from a stab wound.

Officers investigating the incident learned that the stabbing was as a result of a domestic disturbance between the victim and Michael R. Johnson, 21. Johnson had left the scene prior to the arrival of officers however he was later apprehended at his home in the 300 block of E. McKinney Avenue without incident. Johnson has been jailed on a preliminary charge of felony aggravated battery.

This incident is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutors office.

 

Three shot in New Year’s incident

FORT WAYNE—At approximately 12 a.m., Jan. 1, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 4800 block of Reed Street in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located three male victims inside a residence. All three victims were conscious and appeared to be suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Paramedics transported the three victims to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital, one of the victims was downgraded to critical condition by a physician. The other two victims remain in serious condition.

Preliminary reports indicate the victims were attending a party in the 4800 block of Reed Street. Witnesses reported several people from the party stepped out onto the back patio of the residence. As soon as they stepped outside, witnesses said they heard gunshots and the three victims were struck.

A subsequent report indicates the victims were targeted. Their ages are 21, male 19, and a male 17 years of age.

A detective interviewed all of the witnesses who were present at the party when the shooting occurred. Crime scene technicians processed the scene and collected evidence.

No arrests have been made and there are no suspects at this time.

This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Assisting agencies include the City of Fort Wayne Fire Department and Three Rivers Ambulance Authority.

 

Man found shot to death on Logan

FORT WAYNE—At approximately 3:28 a.m., Jan. 1, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 3600 block of Logan Avenue reference a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located a male subject inside the residence suffering from an apparent single gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.

Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses that were inside the residence when the shooting occurred. The preliminary details of the shooting are unclear at this point. At the conclusion of their interviews, detectives hope to have more information regarding the circumstances of the shooting.

Crime scene technicians are currently processing the scene and collecting evidence.

A later police report indicate that the death appeared accidental or suicide in nature shooting but “not” criminal.

This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s Office and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
