County councilman says collective bargaining debate matters

| June 19, 2014

To the Citizens of Southeast Fort Wayne-Allen County Council District-1:

I have been asked, by many of you, concerning my stance on the collective bargaining being debated by the Fort Wayne City Council.

First and foremost, I am YOUR Allen County Councilman, and my responsibilities are for the fiscal affairs of ALLEN COUNTY, Indiana. Not Fort Wayne!

However, I do strongly believe it right to address, and hopefully, answer, some of your concerns on this contentious issue. I have worked for companies that were both union and non-union here in Fort Wayne and Allen County. In that respect, I have been a union man, and proud of it, and a non-union man too.

My point is this, I am involved in public service, elected by YOU, to bring good paying, long term JOBS to all citizens of SE Ft. Wayne & SE Allen County.
