Familia Dental to provide the required exams

FORT WAYNE—Familia Dental will be providing preventative dental care to the young members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne on Aug. 7. The exam and cleaning will fulfill the “proof of dental exam” required by Fort Wayne Community Schools.

The clinic will be held for Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne members at Fairfield Club site. The children will be given a dental report card to take home after receiving a dental exam and cleaning. Familia Dental will follow up the exam with a telephone call to the families to explain the results in the report card. The exams will be covered by family insurance, Medicaid, or a nominal fee.

“We are excited about the private sector reaching out to nonprofit organizations to help meet the needs of our Fort Wayne children,” commented Joe Jordan, president and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne, “This is a great example of the type of collaboration that builds capacity in our community.”
