Wilford Allen family institutes scholarship to benefit Metro

FORT WAYNE—The family of the late Wilford G. Allen recently announced that they have established the Wilford G. Allen Memorial Scholarship Program with Metro Youth Sports Inc., to provide funds for children who need assistance with their activity fees to participate in the Metro Youth Sports programs.

Allen, who was an active supporter of Metro Youth Sports Inc., passed away April 20.

He was a member of the board of directors and a coach with the Rams football team. Allen was committed to the Metro Youth Sports’ mission to provide leadership, resources and activities for the youth who lived in Fort Wayne. To be the best they can be academically, athletically and outstanding citizens.

Officials of the Metro Youth Sports Inc. organization said they would like to thank the people who initially contributed to the memorial of Wilford G. Allen who passed away April 20, 2013.
