Volunteers are set to “Get Out the Facts” about Obamacare, Aug. 31

| August 30, 2013

Fort Wayne–On Saturday, Aug. 31, Organizing for Action volunteers will “Get Out the Facts” about Obamacare, calling out efforts to mislead and misinform people about the law. OFA volunteers will make sure their neighbors know the truth: millions of Americans just like them are already benefiting from the law, and millions more stand to benefit with enrollment starting Oct. 1.

People are already seeing a host of benefits thanks to the law: free annual checkups, vaccinations, mammograms, pediatrician visits and more are guaranteed; young adults can now stay on their parent’s insurance plans until the age of 26; lifetime caps on coverage are banned; and refunds and rebates are given to families when insurance companies don’t spend enough on health care. Groups against Obamacare are talking about repealing and defunding the law– but fail to mention the new protections and benefits they’d be taking away from middle-class Americans.

WHAT: Press conference highlighting the benefits of the Affordable Care Act for Hoosiers and the dangers of opponents’ politically-motivated misinformation campaign
