FORT WAYNE—Two show business legends who have passed away in the physical sense are set to live again, thanks the city’s own world renowned musical sensations.

At 2 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m., June 29 the World Champion Voices of Unity Choir is scheduled to present “Alive Again: A Tribute To Michael Jackson & Whitney Houston,” at Arts United Center, 303 E. Main St.

Marshal White, music director and CEO of the Voices of Unity Choir’s parent organization, the Unity Performing Arts Foundation (UPAF), said “the lives and music of Jackson and Houston offer a grand window into the fruits of uncommon talent, perseverance and insight, as well as the struggles to maintain balance in an often-difficult world.”

In addition to the acclaimed Voices of Unity Choir, which won gold medals at the world championship choir games in China in 2010 and successfully defended their gold medals at the subsequent World Choir Games in Cincinnati in 2012, the concert is scheduled to feature some of the region’s top guest singers, dancers and musicians.

The “Alive Again” concert serves as one of Unity’s annual fundraisers, with proceeds going to help support and continue the widely-heralded work UPAF and the Voices of Unity are doing for the community and its youth. The concert also will serve as a kick-off fundraiser for the 2014 World Choir Games in Latvia.

Tickets for the concert are $16 for adults, $11 for seniors and students and $6 for children 12 and younger. Tickets can be purchased at the Artstix Box Office at the Arts United Center or by calling (260) 422-4226.
