FORT WAYNE—Fort Wayne area music lovers will have an opportunity for a special treat on Nov. 3 when the choir at Trinity Episcopal Church join us with professionals in the music community to present Howard Goodall’s “Eternal Light: A Requiem.”
The 10 a.m. performance is scheduled to be incorporated into the liturgy for All Saints Day during the service at the historic church, located at 611 West Berry St.
According to Wayne Peterson, Trinity’s music director, this is the first time this particular work of Goodall will be heard in Fort Wayne. The composer is perhaps best known for the theme to the British comedy hit “The Vicar of Dibley.” Goodall based his theme for that program on a setting of Psalm 23 that was performed by the choir of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, England. He has also composed theme music for “Mr. Bean.”
Peterson, who along with Trinity provides a music program for homeschooled and other interested youth, said the music for Nov. 3 could be a good introduction to classical music for those parents wishing to expose their children to the genre.
Vocal soloists for the work will be Elizabeth Piercy, Alin Cass and Daniel Albers.
