FORT WAYNE—Ursula M. Sanchez is scheduled to celebrate her quinceañera July 20 at Classic Café with family and friends.
A quinceañera is a traditional Latin American celebration of a young girls’ transition from childhood into womanhood.
During the quinceañera, the father of the honoree traditionally escorts her into the formal celebration to the sound of music. The young woman then dances with relatives and friends. The evening is filled with music, food and well-wishes from those in attendance.
Señorita Sanchez, the daughter of Roberto and Juana Sanchez of Fort Wayne, is sophomore at South Side High School where she is a member of the soccer and track teams. She is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
