Obituary: July 17 edition

Tina Louise Matthews was born Jan. 17, 1959 in Murphysboro, Ill., to Glenda Rankin (Passmore) and Eugene Locke, and departed this life June 22, 2013. Tina completed her formative years of school in Murphysboro. Upon leaving Illinois, Tina made Fort Wayne, Ind., her new home. She enjoyed reading as well as playing computer games. Tina had a passion for cooking, painting and gardening. She was also a dedicated and loyal hard worker with a strong work ethic. She loved to restore houses and was a perfectionist. She always gave the best of herself. She was a friend to many cherished time spent with her friends and family. Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory. Alfred Jackson Sr., her companion; mother, Glenda Rankin; daughter, Tatika Locke; grandchildren, Naseur and La’Ray; sisters Nina, Dana, Celeste, Retta, Adriene, Luerene, Laticia and Maleane; brothers Gary Eugene Jr., Lamart and Adam; stepmother, Loretta Locke, and special friend Linda Brooks; as well as many truly beloved family and friends. Her extended family members from various states will also miss her dearly. Preceding her in death were her father, Eugene Locke; grandfathers, Percy and Maxine Passmore and Artell and Carrie Locke; uncles Donnie Passmore, Artell Locke Jr., and Lyndall Locke; aunts Kaye Passmore, Kathy Passmore, Yvonne Locke, and cousin Kennan Kenner.
