Obituaries: Nov. 27 edition

Brandon “Bam” Dock, 40, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013. He was born Oct. 6, 1973, in Fort Wayne. He graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1992. Surviving are: his sons, Brandon Dock II and Brayden Dock both of Fort Wayne; companion, Jeniah Pink of Fort Wayne; sister, Barbara Stanley of Fort Wayne; brothers, Reginald Dock of Fort Wayne, Darden (Beatrice) Stanley of Tacoma, Wash., and Blane Dock of Atlanta; aunt, Luvenia Lymon; special nephew, Mike Rogers and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Seabron B. Dock Sr.; mother, Mildred Stanley, Ronald Stanley, dear friend, Tia Causey and nephew, DeWayne Dock. Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at Greater Mount Ararat, with burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.

 

Arthur Henry Dupree passed away, Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 with his wife at his side. He was born on Feb. 11, 1961 in Fort Wayne to Paul and Bernice (Starks) Dupree. “Tony,” as many knew him, attended Northrop High School and was employed at Fort Wayne Plastics.  He was also a welder.  He owned, with his wife, A & L Grills.  He loved making grills, camping, sitting in the driveway, barbequeing and riding his Harley with his wife and friends. He leaves to hold and cherish many memories: his loving wife, Leslie; sons, Cole Wesley Enterline, Marcus Anthony Winfree and T.J. Ochoa; daughter, Tonya (Kelron) Mixon; sisters, Shirley Walker, Paula (David) Sanders and Adrianna Moore; brother, Jerry Walker; mother-in-law, Jean DalPonte; sister-in-law, Latisha Baker; seven grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bernice Dupree and a brother, Herman Lee Dupree. Funeral services were Nov. 18, 2013 at Jerusalem Baptist Church. Tony was laid to rest near his mother and brother at Covington Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home.

 

Freddie Joe Gaines was born on March 4, 1954, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He departed this life on Thursday Nov.14, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. He worked in the family business, Gaines Construction Inc. for 36 years. He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters: Ebony (Nathaniel) Sullivan and Sheena McGee both of Fort Wayne; three sons, Kareen (Carol) Gaines, Javette McGee, both of Fort Wayne, and Freddie Joe Gaines Jr. of Sturgis, Ky.; three sisters: Joyce (Larry) Gaines-Reese, Vivian (Henry) Gaines-Thompson, and Marsha (Robert) Black, all of Fort Wayne; five brothers: Henry Gaines Jr. of Celina, Ohio, the Rev. Michael (Pamela ) Gaines of Dallas, Ronald Gaines of Atlanta, Jerome (Denise) Gaines of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Darryel Gaines of Jeffersonville, Ind.; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Ethel Gaines Sr. Funeral services for Freddie were Friday Nov. 22, 2013, at Greater Spirit of Love C.O.G.I.C. in Fort Wayne, with Pastor Paul Taylor Jr. officiating and burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.

 

Viola (Hambright) Harrison, 46, of Fort Wayne, departed this life on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013. She was born June 4, 1967, in Greensboro, Ala. She was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Dr. Samuel Walker. Surviving are: her loving and devoted husband, Larry Harrison; daughters, Tamara Lawrence of Lima, Ohio and Lakesha Hambright of Las Vegas; two grandchildren, Da’ron Smith and Da’rell Smith; step-children, John W. Harrison III of Richmond, Va., Javon D. Harrison, Sharmin L. Harrison, Kimberly Harrison all of Columbus, Ga.; brothers, Walter Hambright and Otha Hambright both of Fort Wayne, David Owens of Birmingham, Ala., Clarence Owens Jr. of Philadelphia, and Albert Taylor of Sawyerville, Ala.; twin sister, Veola Hambright; sisters, Annie Dudley, Dorothy Hambright and Mary Hambright all of Fort Wayne, Jessie Foster of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Mary Louise Dexter of Birmingham. Ala., and Annie Marie Owens of Sawyerville, Ala.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viola was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Owens Sr.; mother, Jessie Hambright; brothers, Willie Hambright and Otis Hambright; sister, Annie Warlick. Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, with burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Arrangements by Carmichael Funeral Service.

 

Eric Paschall, of Fort Wayne, died on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013. Memorial service was Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at New Life Worship Center, 7860 Lafayette Road, Indianapolis (IN 46278). Funeral services were pending at press time. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.
