Derrick D. Carlisle, 45, of Fort Wayne, departed this life on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. He was born on April 4, 1968, in Fort Wayne. Funeral services were Thursday, June 13, at Southern Heights Baptist Church, with burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.

Sandra Craig-Ridley, 54, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. After graduating from Concordia High School, she attended IU Purdue and Harvard, in Cambridge, Mass., where she received a degree in Public Affairs, and also attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary School, in Mass. She served as associate minister at Bethel AME Church. She was determined to study and live the life God had instructed, just as the Apostle Paul. Survivors include her mother, Lovilee Johnson; stepfather, Joe A. Johnson; brother, Michael (Dru) Craig; niece, Kennedy Craig; and nephew, Evan Craig. She was preceded in death by her father, John Craig; and grandmother, Margaret Gleason. Services were Friday, June 14, 2013, at Turner Chapel AME Church, 836 East Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne, with the Rev. Kenneth Christmon officiating. Arrangements were by Midwest Funeral Home & Cremation Society.

Tiniqua Shampri McGee, 19, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013. Born May 31, 1994, she attended R. Nelson Snider High School. Services were Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Greater Christ Temple Apostolic Church, 2940 S. Anthony Blvd. Arrangements were by Nelson Memorial Gardens Inc.

Deborah E. Turner, 60, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013. A native of Middletown, Ohio, she was currently employed by Lincoln Financial Group and a long-time member of Union Baptist Church. Surviving are her mother, Patricia Day; children, Bernard (Coretta) Gaines, Katrina Gaines and Nicole (James) Ridley; siblings, Natalie Bowen and Mark (Vanessa) Lenear; aunt, Gaye Henderson; eight grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Merritt Lenear; and husband, Ben Turner Jr. Services were Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Union Baptist Church, 2200 Smith St., with interment in Lindenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Breanna Gaines Scholarship Fund c/o Union Baptist Church, 2200 Smith St. Fort Wayne, IN 46806. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home.

Willie White, 81, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Services were Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Shiloh Baptist Church. Arrangements were by Nelson Memorial Gardens Inc.

Franklin Bend was born Jan. 26, 1950 to Willie Earl and Catherine Bend. He departed this life May 22, 2013 in his home in Vance, Ala. He was a soldier with Holy Family Church for more than 20 years. He graduated from Holy Family High School and attended Miles College. He served in the U.S. Army and was later employed by Southern Fixtures when he retired in 2012. Franklin was preceded in eternity by his loving parents, father Willie and mother Catherine and brother William Bend. Franklin leaves to cherish his memory: sons Yaquii Bend of Fort Wayne, Daniel Griffin of Birmingham, Ala., and Chirstopher (Toni) Stetler of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren; sisters Willie Lee Walker of Vance, Arthello (Robert) Peagler of Huntsville, Ala., Helen (Randy) Cooper of Birmingham, Debbie (Willlie) Feaginof Alpharetta, Ga., Anna Bend of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; niece, Regina Feagin of Bloomington, Ill.; newphews, Earl Walker Jr. of Calera, Ala., Ronald McIntosh Jr. of Huntsville, Jason Peagler of Huntsville and Willie Feagin Jr. of Bloomington, Ill.; great nephews Jonathan McIntosh of Birmingham, and Joshua McIntosh of Huntsville; aunts Arcola King of Daphne, Ala., Arthello (the Rev. Sam) Shade of Fort Wayne, and a host of relatives and friends. Services were Wednesday, May 29 at Holy Family Church, 1910-19th Street Ensley, Birmingham with Father Robert Crossmyer, C.P., officiating.  Arrangements were by Smith and Gaston Funeral Services, 102-6th Ave. SW, Birmingham.
