Ruby L. Cannon, 94, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at home. Surviving are nine children, Yvonne Martin (Ernest), O.C. (Ada) Cannon, Emma (Johnny) Braster, Mack (Linda), Earl, Patricia, Willie and Farry Lee Cannon, and Teresa Austin (Bruce) Person; seven siblings; and a great host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Cannon; son, Eddie Cannon; daughter, Lillie Mae Ford; three sisters; and six brothers. Services were Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2340 Fairfield Ave., with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home.

Bonita R. Woodson, 53, passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, with family at her side. Surviving are her mother, Barbara Woodson; children, LaShonda Moore, Katoya, Jason, Jawaun T. Sr., and Jamika Woodson; six sisters; three brothers; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Greater Progressive Baptist Church, 2215 John St., with burial in Concordia Lutheran Gardens. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home.

Jean Collins, age 74 of Fort Wayne, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jean was born on October 14, 1938 in Montezuma, Ga., to the late George Felder and Eva Mae West. She confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Brown Chapel Church in Montezuma. Jean attended Flint River Elementary and High School, which was also in Montezuma. She was married to Willie James Collins Sr. and they had two children together. She spent most of her adult life in Chicago where she worked many years in the retail industry as a cashier, clerk and customer service supervisor. She was predeceased by her beloved brother, Eddie Frank Lowe.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her devoted children, Darlene Collins of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Willie (Andrea) Collins of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, William Collins, Bianca Muhammad, Whitney (Leroy) Gordon, Andreana Collins, Courtney Burrage, Charles Devin Burrage, Mariah Burrage and Brianna Salter; great-grandchildren, Daesha and Layla; adoring sisters, Sheila Felder and Dollicia Felder both of Rochester, New York; sister-in-law, Bertha “Penny” Lowe of Chicago, Illinois; nieces, Kimberly, Jennifer, Yashica, Ericka, Climmie, Taquya; nephews, Quatro and Hans; loving cousins who were like sisters to her Barbara Tillis and Effie Walton both of Chicago, and a host of cousins, extended family members and friends. Services were held Friday, March 15, 2013 at Ellis Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony R. Pettus, Sr. as the officiant. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home.
