Phyllis “Red” Brown-Austin, 46, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at home. Surviving are her spouse, Darrell Austin; two sons, Jonathan Maurice Brown and Darrell Dion Brown; five sisters; four brothers; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Brown; a brother, Willie Allen; and a sister, Joann Brown. Funeral services were Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Ellis Funeral Home, 1021 E. Lewis St. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home.

Emma Jean Cooper, 63 of Fort Wayne, departed this life on Monday, March 18, 2013. She was born on Dec. 15, 1949, in Hines, Miss. Funeral services were. Wednesday, March 27 at Carmichael Funeral Service, with burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.

Charles Edward Garmon Jr., 52, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. He was born on May 27, 1960, in Fort Wayne. Funeral service was Saturday, March 23 at Carmichael Funeral Service. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.

Jacqueline “Jackie” Bouvier Hardy, 49, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Born in Topeka, Kan., she was raised in Fort Wayne and was a 1982 graduate of Paul Harding High School. Surviving are her mother, Barbara A. Hardy; son, Dominique; daughters, Sade and Shá-Haloney; brothers, Timothy Sr. and D’Angelo Hardy; special cousins, Andre Grant and Carlos Walters. She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmie L. Hardy Jr. Services were Monday, March 25, 2013, at Community Baptist Church with burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home.

Ella Mae King, departed this life on Saturday, March 23, 2013, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on Nov. 30, 1932, in Marion, Ala. She retired from Fort Wayne State Develop mental Center after 32 years of service and was a lifetime member of the NAACP. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her husband of 61 years, Eugene L. King Sr.; 13 children, Maggie (Robert) Wright, Eugene (Lenette) King Jr., Norma King, Anita Winston, Darlene (Albert) King-Crutchfield, Carmen (Reginald) Moore, Keith King, Shelia Young, Jackie Wimbley, Roland King, Patrick King, Tracy (Melvin) Woodgett, and Chad King; brother, the Rev. Issac Fincher Sr.; sisters, Mary Roberts, Martha Thomas and Georgia Verdier; brother-in-law, William (Theola) King; sisters-in-law, Mary Helen Bennett and Dorothy Fincher; 39 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Maggie Fincher; a brother, the Rev. James Fincher; a sister, Elizabeth Dobynes; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. Services were Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 1331 Gay St., with burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home.
