Claudia M. (Sanders) Andrews, 83 passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013, at home. She retired from V.A. Hospital with 17 years of service. Surviving are her daughter, Lynette Williams; sons, Jeffery Sanders, Tony Andrews and Todd Andrews; brothers, Don, Creighton, Tom, and Charles Sanders; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were Friday, April 5, 2013, at Friendship Baptist Church with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home.
Montez Antonio “Rozay” Brooks, 19, of Fort Wayne, departed this life on Sunday, March 31, 2013. He was born on Aug. 9, 1993, in Fort Wayne. Surviving are his mother, Jamie Brooks; father, Cortes Morris Sr.; brother, Jermar’Quay Brooks; and sister, Myeasha Brooks. Funeral services were Friday, April 5 at Union Baptist Church, with burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.
Mary Frances Bryant, 80, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013. Surviving are her sons, Franklin Sr. and Calvin Jones; daughters, Marine (Arthur Jr.) Ware and May Robie Jones; brother, Jesse Sullivan; sister, Bessie Holmes; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Oak Ridge Temple COGIC, with burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home.
Martha Jean Lewis, 63, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. She was born on Aug. 4, 1949, in Acmar, Ala. Surviving are her sons, CarRen and Telly Lewis, both of Fort Wayne; daughter, Dan’Nae Lewis of Fort Wayne; brothers, Sam Lewis Jr. and Willie Lewis; two grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Kelvin Lewis. Funeral services were Wednesday, April 3 at Carmichael Funeral Service. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.
Viola Lyons-Jefferson, 77, of Fort Wayne, went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Born Dec. 31, 1935, in Lambert, Miss., she was a daughter of Willie and Mary Morgan. Surviving are her son, William Lyons of Fort Wayne; brother, Roosevelt Morgan of Chicago, Ill. sister, Belinia Bullock of New York; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Funeral services were Saturday, April 6 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 3506 Warsaw St., with calling one hour prior. Arrangements were by Nelson Memorial Gardens.
Charlie Williams, 87 passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. He retired from International Harvester after 32 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; and 13 children. Services were Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at True Love Baptist Church with burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home.
