Immacula Dugue, 68, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 at 12 p.m. at her residence. She was born April 8, 1945 in Haiti the daughter of Jule Julien and Anatile Thele-maque. Immacula is survived by her children, Marc-Elie (DeAnna) Dugue, Ronald (Jorn Pinnock) Julien, Ben (Catherine) Rouyes, Gilbert Pierreval, Marie Jenie (Jude) Paul, all of Fort Wayne, and Pascal Occelus and Marjorie Julien, both of St Marc, Haiti; two sisters; and one brother; and 11 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial was Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 at St. Jude Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior. Burial will be in Haiti. Charles B. Franklin, 62, of Palmetto, Fla., formerly of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013. He was born on June 10, 1951. Memorial service is noon Saturday at Greater Spirit of Love Church, 6116 S. Calhoun St., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Memorials to the family. Eric Jenaqua Abdul Tyrone “Knockie” Paschall, 40, of Indianapolis, formerly of Fort Wayne, departed this life on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013. He was born Sept. 23, 1973, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Surviving are his wife Aisha Paschall; sons, Eric Williams, Jenaqua Hairston-Paschall, Adrian Hairston-Paschall, Shakir Paschall, Ni’Colby Paschall, Shakil Paschall and Seven Paschall; daughters, Nicosha Paschall, Tyler Paschall, Jabrisha Paschall, Emora Paschall and Japera Paschall; mother, Sarah Paschall; father, Eric Freeman; brother, Craig Wilkerson; sisters, Nichole Paschall, Onjane’ Golden, Ericka Paschall, Latonya Wright, Lavette Wright, Erika Hurd, La’Gracia Chinchilla, Fatima Adams, Ronalda Sanders and Tamanga Freeman; grandparents, Clarence and Christina Hopkins, Robert Paschall, Sr. and Lowell Freeman; special nephew, Orlando Paschall; special niece, Miquisha Paschall; special cousin, Trey Freeman; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and numerous special friends. Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at Joshua Temple, 4202 Hessen Cassel Road, Fort Wayne with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.


William “Shuggie” Whitson Jr., 56, of Fort Wayne, departed this life on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Feb. 24, 1957, in Middletown, Ohio. William was a graduate of Elmhurst High School, class of 1976. He was employed by Waste Management and retired in 2011, after 26 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of Summit Church. Surviving are his sons, Darnell Marshall and Izell Marshall; daughter, Tanisha (Jamarcus) Turner all of Fort Wayne; brothers, Tyrone Alexander and Ronald (Lawanda) Whitson both of Fort Wayne; sister, Carol Whitson of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Amirah Menifee, Jasmine Turner and Izell Marshall Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. William was preceded in death by his parents, William and Leona Frances Whitson Sr. and sister, Darlene Freeman. Funeral service was Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at Summit Church, 2320 Maumee Ave. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.


Dave Cassavetes Bennett Sr., 53, departed this life on Nov. 17, 2013 of a heart attack at the family home. He was born on August 22, 1960 in Muncie, Ind. Dave attended Muncie Public Schools; after he graduated high school he enlisted in the army. Dave was in the National Guard and also worked several different jobs until he decided that his career choice was heating and cooling. Dave had a Certificate from Ivy Tech Community College for heating and cooling and a Bachelors in General Studies. Dave also founded and owned D B & Sons Heating and Cooling for several years. Dave loved his family especially his kids and grandchildren. He also loved to fish and hunt. Dave was known as Big Dave and Ole DB. Dave had god given talent to fix anything. He had knowledge in a vast number of topics and everyone depended on him to fix whatever needed to be fixed. Dave loved the outdoors, Fishing and Hunting, but especially loved to fish. For those who knew Dave knew he did not bite his tongue. Dave leaves to cherish his memory: wife of 20 years, Kimberly A. Shoemaker-Bennett; children, Dave C. Bennett Jr., Duval G. Shoemaker, Lakevya R. Bennett, Davon G. Shoemaker and Alenea A. Mason; mother Elnora Seals; 4 siblings, Teddy M. Burtley, Carmen D. (Andrew) Graves, Douglas T Bennett, and Starr L. Bennett; seven step-siblings, Linda (Tony) Jefferson, Venice (Garland) Simmons, Neal (Edith) Seals, Taylor (Sue) Seals, Jackie Seals, Helen Seals and Teckolar (Allen) Harris; mother, Virginia Haynes; five siblings Tracina (John) Bryant, Teresa (Luther) Anderson, Sabrina Frazier James Frazier and Duran Haynes; nine grandchildren; mother in law, Patricia A Shoemaker; brother in law, Gerald L Shoemaker; close friends, Gerald A. Mason, Brian “Bingo” Long, Roosevelt James, Kenny Gilliam and Ernest Young. He is preceded in death by his daughter, father, Teddy Burtley; grandmothers, Betty Bennett and Gertha Williams; and a host of aunts and uncles. Visitation was Saturday, Nov. 23 at Union Baptist Church. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.


Willie J. Hunter, 78, of Fort Wayne, passed on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013. He was born Nov. 12, 1935, in Chattanooga, Tenn. Willie was employed by Performing Arts Center and retired after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Millie Hunter; sons, Willie Hunter Jr., Charles Hunter, Tracy (Ardian) Hunter, Anthony Hunter and Jeffery Hunter all of Chattanooga and Andre Hunter of Douglasville, Ga.; daughters, Reba Hunter, Deidria (Larry) Hunter-Hardy and Kathy Taylor all of Chattanooga and Deborah (Elroy) Freeman of St. Marys, Ga.; brother, Johnnie Lee (Viola) Mitchell of Dorcena, Ala; sister-in-law, Mary Hunter of Fort Wayne; special cousin, James L. (Rosezenia) Gibson of Detroit 31 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Willie was preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Willie Ann Hunter Sr.; brothers, Alf Hunter, the Rev. Samuel Hunter Jr., Abraham Hunter; and sister, Mordie Morris. Funeral service was Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 at Mount Olive Baptist Church, with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements were by Carmichael Funeral Service.
