Dr. Tyler Kimmel, DDS, is the new dental director for NHCI.

NHCI, is proud to welcome Dr.Tyler Kimmel, DDS, as Dental Director. Dr. Kimmel was born and raised in Fort Wayne, IN. He attended Bishop Luers High School and later the University of Saint Francis for his undergraduate training. While at Saint Francis Dr. Kimmel volunteered as an assistant with the Matthew 25 Health and Dental Clinic, and developed an interest in public health dentistry.

While at Indiana University, Dr. Kimmel conducted 3 years of public health dentistry research focusing on dental volunteerism and what motivates dentists and dental students to volunteer their time to safety net programs. Dr. Kimmel served as the President of Indiana University School of Dentistry’s student chapter of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry, and helped start a free clinic on the east side of Indianapolis. The clinic housed in a Federally Qualified Health Center in Indianapolis,which  gave Dr. Kimmel insight into how important community health centers are to the neighborhoods they serve.

Dr. Kimmel graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in May 2013 with high distinction and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He is a member of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Association for Dental Research, American Dental Association, Isaac Knapp District Dental Society, and the Indiana Dental Association. Dr. Kimmel brings experience, dedication, and leadership skills to Neighborhood Health Clinics, Inc. Dental clinic.
