The campuses will be Horizon Christian Academy Wells Campus and Horizon Christian Academy Broadway Campus.
“Our mission from the beginning has been to provide as many students as possible with a Christian education, and a choice. We trust this is a solution that is good for children and good for families,” said Tammy Henline, Co-Founder of Horizon Christian Academy. “We believe in Christian education and in families having a choice. By keeping the schoolhouse doors open, we can preserve school choices in a Christ-centered environment for Fort Wayne families while allowing for continuity in the education of their children.”
Horizon Christian Academy is a fully accredited private school that accepts the Indiana Choice Scholarship. The scholarship gives students and families a greater opportunity to choose a school that best meets their educational needs. “We’re grateful that parents have an opportunity to apply for Choice Scholarships for their children,” continued Henline.
“By providing Christian values, academic excellence and individual student development, we believe that we can be of great service to the families in our community.” said Anthony Beasley, Co-Founder of Horizon Christian Academy.
State and community leaders have lined up to support the agreement.
“I am pleased to know that the students and families that were a part of the Imagine family will now be able to be served through Horizon Christian Academy in the fall,” said State Senator Dennis Kruse of Allen County. “Many of the families that were attending Imagine will now have the ability through this new agreement with Horizon to utilize and participate in the Indiana Choice Scholarship program with little to no out-of-pocket costs.”
State Representative Bob Morris, also of Allen County, states, “I am very happy that there will still be a school providing students with an educational environment that may suit them best. The Indiana General Assembly has worked to give these kids a choice in their education and I want to encourage parents to continue to be a positive force in their child’s educational career.”
Founded in 2010, by Henline and Beasley, Horizon Christian Academy’s philosophy of education is believing that all students, regardless of circumstances, deserve to have the best education possible and that the education should be provided in a spiritually based and nurturing environment.
