REDDITCH, England—When Alexandria Hayden, daughter of Jeffery and Jacqueline Hayden and granddaughter of William and Catherine Hayden, was born at the old Lutheran Hospital on Christmas day in 1987, her family felt she was their gift from God. Almost from the moment Alex was born, she would smile and display happiness whenever a camera would flash for a picture, causing many to remark how she loved the attention of cameras even before she could walk or talk.

Fast forward 26 years and that prophecy has become reality, as Alex (as Alexandria is known) is now a host/presenter on the Rocks TV channel based in Redditch, England. Rocks TV is one of the shopping TV channels of Gems which is part of the Gemporia group of companies. Gemporia operates two television channels and one Internet only channel selling genuine gemstones directly to the public on a falling auction basis.

Alex started work at Gemporia as a producer after graduating from Birmingham City University in England with a bachelor degree in Media and Communications in 2010 having moved to England with her family at the age of 13. After six months of producing, she was given the opportunity to fill in for a presenter who was off sick and has been selling jewelry live on British TV ever since.

In August 2012, Gemporia started a new channel, Rocks TV, based in England but targeting the United States jewelry market. This flagship channel sells jewelry directly to the American public from their base in Redditch. Rocks TV is broadcast from England to the United States via Time Warner Cable, The Dish and Direct TV.

Being one of many shopping channels on the crowded U.S. cable TV arena, only presenters with very strong English speaking accents were selected for the start up to help the new channel stand out. With the channel now established, Alex was moved over to Rocks TV in November working the 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. EST slot. All presenters on Rocks TV work a rotating shift of five days on one week and two on days the next week.

Anyone in the Fort Wayne area can watch Alex and buy jewelry she sells, which will be delivered directly to your home, during her time slot on The Dish channel 87, Direct TV channel 263 or directly off the Gemporia website which also shows the live broadcasts at www.gemporia.com/en-gb/auction/us/.

Unfortunately, Comcast cable customers are not offered Rocks TV in their channel line up at this time. Please feel free to call Comcast and request that Rocks TV is added to your cable TV package.
