Fort Wayne man shot in back yard

FORT WAYNE—At approximately 10:30 p.m., July 10. officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a 911 hang up call received by dispatchers. There was a female heard yelling on the line and then the call was disconnected. On re-call the line went straight to voice mail. The address of the phone call was ascertained through tracking the signal to the 2400 block of Juliette Avenue. Upon arrival Officers were able to determine that someone was shot. There was a slight language barrier.

An adult male who was in his back yard was shot by an unknown suspect. He was categorized in serious condition at the scene. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later downgraded to critical condition. There were no other injuries reported at the scene. There was a k-9 track conducted which was terminated a short time later.

Police and detectives canvassed the area for potential evidence and information. Crime scene technicians processed the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the city of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
