Fort Wayne man arrested after domestic disturbance, barricade incident

FORT WAYNE—At approximately 3:17 a.m., June 12, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a home in the 500 block of Pinegrove Lane reference a domestic disturbance wherein the suspect, an adult male, later identified as 23-year-old Charles R. Seals Jr., refused to surrender himself to police. Inside the home was the female resident and her child, who were believed to be held by the suspect. The Emergency Services Team (EST) and Crisis Response Team (CRT) responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

During the course of the three-hour investigation at the scene, the female safely exited the home, and soon after the Emergency Services Team made entry and located Seals inside the home with the infant child. The child was reported to be safe and uninjured.

After a subsequent investigation, Seals was arrested on a preliminary charge of being a felon in possession of a handgun without license.

The incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
